Before you start
You'll need an active AI SIP Trunk account and a DID number ready before configuring ElevenLabs.
Setup steps
- In the ElevenLabs Agents Platform, open the workspace selector and go to Telephony.
- Under Telephony, click Phone Numbers.
- Choose Import number, then select your SIP trunk provider.
- Give the trunk a descriptive label.
- Enter the DID in E.164 format (or the SIP extension).
- Disable media encryption.
- Enter the SIP trunk username, if your provider requires authentication.
- Enter the matching SIP trunk password.
- Enter your SIP provider's hostname or IP address in the Address field.
- Save the configuration.
- Confirm the trunk now appears in your Phone Numbers list.
What to expect
Once connected, the AI agent handles both incoming and outgoing calls automatically. ElevenLabs' setup flow only asks for the phone number format, SIP hostname/IP, and optional authentication — it doesn't require codec or port settings.
